How I Finally Stopped Vomiting Using A Little Known Morning Sickness Cure

Filed under: morning sickness cure — admin @ 2:23 pm

Hi there,

Today I want to write about my own personal experience with pregnancy and morning sickness. And, I want to tell you about about something that really helped me, and I hope can help you too if you are suffering from morning sickness right now.  When I was pregnant, I found a book that explained a brand new way to treat morning sickness. It’s a holistic approach – meaning in addition to some great info about standard morning sickness cures, it also talks about a unique treatment using acupressure that is specific to morning sickness. The techniques are really quick and easy, but they really saved my sanity some days.

Last summer, I got pregnant with my son. This was a very happy time in my life, because both me and my husband had wanted kids for a while. We were a little scared and nervous, but overall we were very joyous to be starting a family.

About six weeks into my pregnancy though, I started to feel sick.

Within about a week after the first symptoms started, I woke up one morning and after smelling the coffee brewing downstairs I had to run to the bathroom and throw up.

“OK, well I guess the test was right!” I thought to myself. “No problem. This is normal…it happens to most women. I’ll just eat some crackers, and that will settle my stomach.” Yea right…

Over the next few weeks, things got worse. A LOT worse…

When was the last time you threw up out of car window while you were the one driving? Oh my gosh, that was a bad day.

I was sick so much that I missed days of work. Many nights of sleep were lost. Things also got tense with my husband, because I could not stand the smell of any of the food he tried to cook for me. I never realized how much you take the simple things for granted.

I started to worry all the time about whether I was hurting the baby. Between all the vomiting, lack of sleep, and stress I had no energy to take on day-to-day life.  Things were getting very rough and I just wanted to cry all the time.

Now, I didn’t just suffer in silence this whole time. I talked to friends, searched the Internet, and went to my OB to try and get some relief. They all gave me several suggestions of things to try.

For me, none of the food/diet related morning sickness remedies did much at all though. Here’s a brief list of suggestions I tried: eat ginger, smell lemons, drink green tea, eat crackers in the morning, don’t eat spicy foods, eat several small meals a day, take vitamin B6. None of this helped very much though, and I was still feeling sick all the time.

I had also been hearing about Sea Bands from some friends who already had kids, so I borrowed a pair from one of them. I thought they were a silly idea, not to mention that they made me look like I was in a totally 80′s music video. But, when you’re in desperation like I was you’ll try anything, so I put them on…and nothing happened.

Finally, I turned to the Internet. On a forum, I heard someone talking about a book called Morning Sickness Freedom, by Mary Kinsey. She is a former morning sickness sufferer, who developed a brand new acupressure technique designed specifically for morning sickness.

I had never heard of it before and because of my recent experiences, I was initially a little dubious. But as I worked my way through the website I began to feel as though it was designed specifically for me. I did more research and read some extremely complimentary reviews and testimonials. Most people using this system typically see significant improvement very soon after the first treatment.

I decided to get the book. Inside, I discovered an almost unbelievable and simple way to free myself from morning sickness. One nice thing about it is that since it’s based around acupressure and other natural methods, it’s completely natural and safe for you and your baby. The results weren’t “instant” (and they weren’t within 24 hours as claimed on the website) but after a couple days or so things really started improving.

In my opinion, for your money, this is by far the best morning sickness cure. It has worked extremely well for me, and maybe it will help you too if you give it a try. The reason I recommend it simply because I tried it, and it works.

Anyway, I hope you’ve found this information useful whatever your situation because if I had known about “Morning Sickness Freedom” earlier, I would have been so much happier without wasting so much time and money with all these other things. Don’t let morning sickness rule your pregnancy- take steps to overcome it today – I know you can do it too. Good luck!

Morning Sickness Relief – How Acupressure Can Help With Nausea During Pregnancy

Filed under: morning sickness cure — admin @ 4:08 pm

Recently, I mentioned how things like Sea-Bands and Relief Bands can help to reduce nausea during pregnancy. Along with all the typical home remedies (like ginger, lemon, vitamin B6, etc…) I tried these bands too to help stop my morning sickness. While they only helped a little, this was nevertheless the only technique that actually provided any relief at all. Curious as to why, I had to learn more…

The answer is acupressure. Acupressue is similar in concept to acupressure, except that instead of using needles to puncture the skin and stimulate trigger points, you use your own fingers to gently apply pressure or tap on the key meridian points.

Sounds a little too “new age”? Guess what though? It works! Scientists and western doctors are slowly catching on that maybe they don’t know everything and there is something new under the sun to be learned. The Chinese, by the way, have been doing acupressure and acupuncture for over 4000 years. If it didn’t work, I think they would have stopped at least a few thousand years ago. :)

Here are a few links I came across from the National Institute of Health (NIH), and Oxford University in the UK about using acupressure as a morning sickness cure.

So why does this work to stop severe morning sickness? Well, here is what I think is happening.

The causes of morning sickness are a little more complicated than just low blood sugar and changing appetites. When you’re pregnant, there are a lot of emotions swirling around in your life and mid. When it comes to health in general, I really believe that there is a mind-body connection. Or, in other words, in times of stress you tend to get sick more. Or, if you think about stressful things, you will get more stressed an unhealthy.

Stress, fatigue, trauma, and high emotions in general all cause chemical imbalances, muscle tension, and poor circulation to build up around certain points of the body. Acupressure works to relieve tension around these points and provides increased blood flow, which improves the circulation and balance of natural bioelectrical and chemical elements in your body.

In a nutshell, that’s how I think acupressure works to relieve morning sickness. It also explains why some people get much more sick than others: because everybody is different, and reacts to being pregnant in a different way. It also explains why western doctors have been stumped for hundreds of years about the cause of morning sickness. They just need to open their mind a little and realize that there’s a little bit more science going on.

More to come soon..

Pregnancy Morning Sickness

Guys, here is a good video about why women experience morning sickness during pregnancy. The acupressure part is really interesting… I never knew sailors used the same technique to help with their nausea too. I tried Sea Bands, and they helped a little sometimes but they were never really enough for me. More to come soon on using acupressure to treat morning sickness.

Morning Sickness Cure – Natural Methods vs. Drugs

Filed under: morning sickness cure — admin @ 1:37 pm

During pregnancy, 90% of women have to experience the suffering and disruption of morning sickness. Usually, one of the early signs of pregnancy, morning sickness starts at around week 6 of pregnancy and remains until somewhere around week 16. Some unlucky women experience nausea during pregnancy for the entire 9 months however. Much research has gone into finding a morning sickness cure. The good news is that most severe symptoms such as frequent vomiting can be prevented using natural remedies, although the root cause is still somewhat unknown to doctors.

Doctors have several different theories about what the cause of morning sickness is, but the consensus is that is a combination of three things: an increase in the estrogen hormone levels, lowered blood sugar, and a heightened sensitivity to odors. Women commonly report specific triggers that cause them to feel nausea and other symptoms of morning sickness. For example, some of these are coffee, alcohol, refined sugar, and beef.

Morning sickness gets its name because it is usually felt just after waking, when the stomach is empty and the blood sugar is low. The morning nausea and vomiting can extend to the entire day for some unlucky women however. Occasionally, with severe cases hospitalization is required to avoid problems with dehydration and malnutrition. This is somewhat rare, and prescription morning sickness medication or pills are usually given to the women at this time.

A natural morning sickness cure is always preferable to medication, although since everybody is different, sufferers may have to experiment a bit to find what works best for them. Even though drug testing regulations are now in place to help prevent another Thalidomide tragedy, there is really no guarantee that foreign chemicals will not have unforeseen consequences to you or your baby in the future. For this reason most women will always try a natural morning sickness cure first, before taking medication.

It’s also useful to consider that the cause of nausea during pregnancy can go beyond physical changes in the mothers body. Hormonal changes can cause stress which in can aggravate symptoms of vomiting and weakness. Also, fears about the pregnancy, labor, birth, and parenting can elevate emotions and play a significant role in morning sickness. So, a holistic treatment that addresses the entire gamut of symptoms is often just what the doctor ordered.
